Yard Waste Overview

Only place organic materials into your green container!

• NO Household Hazardous Waste
  (Paints, solvents, motor oil, cleaners, corrosives, etc.)
• NO Electronic / Universal Waste
  (Televisions, computers, cell phones, batteries, etc.)
• NO Recyclables
  (Cans, glass, metal, paper, plastic, etc.)
• NO Garbage
  (All non-recyclable materials.)
• NO Construction Debris
  (Concrete, rocks, dirt, etc.)

Acceptable Materials Grass clippings Leaves Tree and bush prunings Weeds

Unacceptable Materials Bug, moth or ant-infested material Concrete, asphalt or other building materials Dirt, rocks or sod Fruits, vegetables or food waste Ice plant, cactus, poison oak or palm fronds Manure and animal waste Painted or treated wood Palm trees or fronds, bamboo or pampas grass Plastic bags (Plastic bags will contaminate the entire load!) Tree trunks and stumps

Important Yard Waste Notes!

• Our automated trucks have a weight limit of 150 pounds. Carts filled to capacity with heavy materials can exceed this weight limit and may not be collected.
• Tree and shrub prunings must be cut small enough to fit inside the container.
• Fill your provided green container completely before using any personal containers or bundles.
• Do not place yard clippings in plastic or paper bags. Place green waste loose in container.

Proper Container Placement And Storage
Recycling, green waste and garbage containers are collected by a fully automated collection vehicle. The automated truck requires ample room to collect containers safely and effectively. For more information on container placement, please view our Proper Container Placement And Storage page.
